Might not be the solution to everyone's problem but thought I'd share it.Anyone is with the latest driver from FileHorse. A few minutes with the fan heater and it all works perfectly! Cold I get no data light on my router and the adapter isn't recognised. I have tested this out several times now. Hey presto, the network adapter was recognised and I was able to reinstall the drivers, though I don't believe that was actually necessary. Long story short, I took a 2kw fan heater, and directed onto the PC casing. My spare room heater packed up a couple of months back, so this theory interested me. Searching around, I found, along with this forum, another website forum, where a guy talked about the network adapter being temperature sensitive. I spoke to Dell sipport who said they would send me a link to the drivers (which they never did) but told me if that didn't work, I would have to have a new mother board fitted. Network adapter was not being detected and eventually it told me to re-install drivers. Sometimes I could get it working with several reboots, others nothing. Hi, after 18 months, my network card started playing up. We recommend this process to be done in an environment where there is continuous power supply to the computer while performing (preferably connected with UPS).Īlso, update the drivers from the below link: If a BIOS update process is interrupted, the computer may not function properly. If the issue still persists, update BIOS from the link given below: Now restart the computer and check if you get any error message. If the Onboard LAN controller is Disabled, enable the Onboard LAN controller and Save and exit.Scroll down to “Onboard LAN controller” and check if it is enabled.Restart the computer and hit F2 on Dell logo.I have provided steps below to check the status of Onboard LAN controller: If the error message pops up again, please check the settings in BIOS if the Onboard LAN controller is enabled. Restart the computer in “Safe mode with networking”(restart the computer and key tapping F8 on Dell logo and select safe mode with networking) to check if it works.
